The Art Of
Rachel Killingsworth
About Rachel Killingsworth - A Wildlife Conservation Artist

Based in Houston, TX
In my youth, I developed a keen interest in the ways of art, storytelling, and film production. Behind-the-scenes clips for movies and art tutorials held my attention longer than anything else. It was clear to me, from middle school and onward, that I knew exactly what I wanted to spend my life doing.
I relentlessly and methodically honed my craft from adolescence into adulthood, earning a B.A. in Arts & Technology from the University of Texas at Dallas, where I specialized in pre-production design for animation, games, and film. After years of diligent work, receiving mentorship and guidance from industry veterans, peers, and professionals, I nurtured and refined my skill set to fit the career that I always saw myself thriving in.
As my creative career progressed, I realized that I could combine my love for art with my deeply held passion for nature and wildlife conservation. As the daughter (and granddaughter) of NASA scientists and engineers, I was instilled with an intense curiosity and reverence for our planet and universe from an early age. The admiration that I have for animals and the natural world became my muse and inspiration for my earliest creations, and continues to provide my work with a purpose.
Although the primary goal for my art is to combat the growing threat of climate change through education, community-building, and creativity, I also consider my work to be a celebration of life in all forms, and a tribute to the planet that we are so lucky to inhabit. I sincerely believe that it is my duty to preserve that which makes life on Earth worthwhile - by using the skills I have mastered as an artist and storyteller.
